It's been about 15 years ago that I was approached by IOS Press about starting the Semantic Web journal. I was immediately enthusiastic about this opportunity because it would give me a chance to try to improve upon common practice in running journals that had so disappointed me in past years.

This special issue aims to discuss the latest research proposals and on the use of machine learning for ontology matching, data interlinking, and data integration in general.
The 2023 impact factors were just released, and the Semantic Web journal is at 3.0 - down a bit from 3.105 last year. We will compare it with the impact factors from the same journals we compared it with in previous years.
This special issue aims to explore the latest research trends and enhance the state-of-the-art in the field of knowledge graph generation from text. It also intends to address the recent advancement of large language models and foundation models and their impact on knowledge graph generation.
