The 16th International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC 2017), which will be held in Vienna, Austria, in October 2017, will again feature a Journals Track with the presentation of 12 papers, half of which will be from the Semantic Web journal. The papers have been selected from among all papers which have been published in a print issue in January 2016 or later, or which were awaiting print publication in May 2017.
We just found out about the new impact factors which were just released. This is only the second year that the Semantic Web journal received an impact factor, and we are pleased to see that the upward trajectory continues. In fact, our impact factor has significantly increased to 2,889 from previous year's 1,786.
In the recent years, there has been an increasing speed and volume of data production in several domains, such as Internet of Things, Social Networks and Smart Cities. An interesting feature of such data is that its utility is often related to time: the sooner the data is processed, the higher is the value. Consequently, techniques to process huge amounts of heterogeneous streaming data in a continuous fashion are getting more and more important.
